Among one of the more shadowy participants in the wars on Polemos is a combat Taedus which refers to itself as ‘Leodegruz.’ Little is publicly known about this sendai, other than its preference for solo operations in mountainous terrain. Due to its heavily customized armour & chassis, its original form is completely unrecognizable, giving no clue to its original manufacturer or identity.
The prominent fin on its head actually functions as an extendable periscope with a limited degree of flexibility. Its shoulder armour conceals large, load-bearing hardpoints onto which a pair of sub-arms or other accessories can be attached. The large thighs, meanwhile, are home tol powerful thrusters and shock absorbers that enhance its mobility, enabling it to perform power-assisted leaps and jumps. It is also rumored to be equipped with emission-masking systems which make it difficult to detect with many commonly used active & passive sensors.
In addition to the ‘blood stripes’ on its arms & chestplate, Leodegruz also sports a handful of logos, apparently from custom shops that have enjoyed its patronage in the past.
This is a Sendai design for 's Theos Ke Polemos setting, and was created with his editorial & conceptual input.
Regardless, I like the cool design and the description helps with the suspension of disbelief.
The painting style is engaging, detailed enough to not look like a kiddie cartoon but smooth and vague enough to flow. Good choice of colors. It reminds me of the FASA BattleTech art.
I don't think insectoid is real words.
