FV-7042 Percival/Scipio

The Percival, a twin-reactor MS, was the Avalonian Commonwealth's standard light mobile suit. Designed by Vickers Defense Systems/ROF Coventry, the Percival was also adopted by the LOH as its standard light MS, known as the 'Scipio.' Consequently, large numbers were manufactured, by Vickers and by various licensees.

The design itself is conventional, with armour thickest in the torso area. The twin MIUC reactors give it a very good power-to-weight ratio, giving it the speed and maneuverability commensurate with MS of its weight class, while still permitting good payload flexibility and decent all-around protection. The large number of hardpoints and its modular construction made it easily adaptable to various configurations as the terrain & tactical situation demanded. It is also quite easy to maintain in the field. Since its adoption by the LOH, the Percival/Scipio has been considered a benchmark against which newer light MS are judged.
